The first thing to do is be like a local and hop on a bike to get around. Follow Amsterdam's concentric rings of canals to explore different neighbourhoods and pass some of the city's best-loved sights like the Rijksmuseum and Anne Frank House. Make sure you drop in at the Waterlooplein flea market, shop the boutiques on Kalverstraat and then relax over a beer at a brown café. Take a day to visit the cheese towns of Edam or Gouda, pick up tulip bulbs at Keukenhof or call in at the Noordeinde Palace in The Hague.
Schiphol, Amsterdam's airport, is the gateway to the Netherlands. From the train station conveniently located in the terminal you can get anywhere in the country quickly and easily. So make sure you include a rail pass in your Sears Travel Holland holiday.
