In Huatulco you can relax on sun-kissed beaches, explore pristine jungle in nearby ecological reserves, and indulge yourself at luxurious resorts. Huatulco's quiet bays are perfect for swimming or just a low-key retreat in the sun.
Huatulco has only limited development around its nine protected bays and is developing a solid reputation as an ecotourism hot spot. You can explore the jungle trails of the Bahias de Huatulco National Park or kayak down the Copalita River. And golfers will appreciate the challenge of the course at Tangolunda.
The hilly, rugged coastline means that most resorts are built a short distance away from the beaches to take advantage of the views. You can relax beside the beautiful pool or at the hotel's nearby beach club. The high-end resorts are on the best beaches at Tangolunda, but there are a number of mid-range options in Santa Cruz. All resorts are all-inclusive as local dining and nightlife is limited, but plan to head into nearby Crucecita at least once to have a more traditional Mexican experience.
